Description

Located on the Sonoma Coast, on the eastern slope (Côte) of the second ridge from the Pacific Ocean, this unique hillside vineyard (Côteau) benefits from the cool maritime breeze and the mild, sunny mountain climate. The site’s natural conditions are ideal for growing excellent Pinot Noir in the Goldridge soil.

Handcrafted using classical Burgundian winemaking techniques, this wine is a tribute to the Nobles family, who have been farming this land for four generations. It shows very intense kirsch and graphite flavours with earthy notes — rich, round, and seamless, with a very fruity, lingering finish. It will age gracefully for a decade.

Tasting notes:  “A nose of currant, earth, fresh lively kirsch and raspberry, macerated red tomato, notes of brown spice and nuts. The palate entry is fresh cherry, black raspberry with notes of tomato, richly put together, balanced and dynamic. Firm, young and promising.”  96 points Doug Wilder Purely Domestic Wine Report, April 2016

“This awesome Pinot Noir is a tribute to Morlet’s brilliance.”
— Robert M. Parker, Jr., The Wine Advocate, December 2014
