The 2017 Gran Rouge Red Wine is a Rhône-style blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. Full of notes of black cherry, grilled herbs, and white pepper, with great structure from medium-grained tannins after eighteen months in oak. Because Alexana now concentrates on its core varietals of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, these GSM wines remained quietly in the cellar following bottling, allowing them to age beautifully.
Now perfectly matured, this wine is ready to enjoy immediately, though it will happily continue to develop in the cellar for several more years if you prefer.
