Description
The 2017 Les Hautes Blanches Vignes is an exceptional Brut Nature Champagne from an exceptionally low-yielding vintage, showcasing the richness, depth and vinous character of Pinot Meunier. Deeply coloured and intensely expressive, the nose reveals layers of bergamot, marzipan, golden orchard fruit and honeydew melon, with further nuances of hazelnut, chamomile, dried flowers and fresh bread emerging with air.
Rich and concentrated on the palate, the wine combines a silky, precise mousse with remarkable texture and energy. Generous red and golden fruit is complemented by subtle oxidative complexity, while vibrant freshness and a savoury, sapid character carry the wine towards an exceptionally long finish.
Its quality has been widely recognised, receiving 96 points from Owen Bargreen, 95 points from Antonio Galloni of Vinous and 94 points from William Kelley of The Wine Advocate.
A powerful and deeply vinous Champagne, Les Hautes Blanches Vignes is equally rewarding now or with further cellaring.
