Description
Originally planted in the 1880s, with some of the original vines still producing fruit, in 1938 the vineyard was purchased by Louis M Martini who had already been buying its fruit. A combination of the volcanic influence, southern aspect and 1,200 feet elevation means that the terroir of the site tends to produce bright wines with high acidity across all 10 varieties planted to it.
Expect notes of ripe red cherry, cranberry, with hints of green bell pepper and orange zest.
