Description
An outlier within the famous Dundee Hills AVA, this unique expression of Oregon Pinot Noir comes from one of the Willamette Valley’s most respected vineyards. Dry-farmed vines, small-lot fermentations, native yeasts, and gravity-flow winemaking allow for a pure expression of the Revana Vineyard — one of the most geologically diverse vineyard sites in North America, with 18 different soil types across 55 acres.
Alexana was founded in 2005 by Dr. Madaiah Revana. His aim was to make great wine — but unlike his Napa estate, where the focus is on Cabernet Sauvignon, here he set out to create cool-climate wines to rival the great Pinots of Burgundy. Alexana is located on a remarkable site in Oregon’s Dundee Hills AVA, where volcanic and marine sedimentary soils converge. Its position on the back side of the hills ensures the vines receive long hours of gentle Oregon sunshine, tempered by unobstructed, cooling Pacific breezes.
The three-storey, gravity-flow winery provides the ideal setting to produce high-quality wines that beautifully express the best of what Oregon has to offer.
