Description
The 2019 Fringilla from Donna Elvira is a beautifully expressive example of Falanghina from Irpinia in Campania, grown at around 400 metres above sea level on clay soils. Made from 100% Falanghina, the wine combines the freshness and aromatic character of the variety with a distinctive mineral and savoury edge.
The nose is vibrant and inviting, with aromas of white-fleshed fruit, Mediterranean herbs and delicate menthol notes. On the palate, lively acidity brings energy and precision, while a subtle saline character adds depth and complexity. There is a pleasing balance between freshness and texture, with the wine remaining bright and focused through the finish.
The 2019 vintage was awarded Gold at the London Wine Competition, recognition of its quality and distinctive character.
Fresh, mineral and beautifully food-friendly, this is a compelling expression of Irpinia Falanghina, with the freshness to enjoy as an aperitif and the structure to pair effortlessly with seafood, white meats, salads and fresh cheeses.
