The 2019 The Tribe Syrah comes from Hors Catégorie Vineyard, one of the most remarkable and dramatic vineyard sites in the Walla Walla Valley. First planted in 2011, the vineyard clings to a steep hillside where the North Fork of the Walla Walla River meets the Walla Walla River, hidden beneath the foothills of the Blue Mountains.
Here, Syrah vines struggle to take root in fractured basalt, surrounded by rocky outcrops and exposed to the unique combination of climate, elevation and rugged topography that defines this extraordinary site. The result is a wine of remarkable character and intensity, shaped as much by its origins as by the variety itself.
