Description
This is a standout release from the next generation of Michael David Winery — the sons and daughters of Michael and David Phillips. A few years ago, they purchased the former Silver Oak winery in Alexander Valley (for cash) and have since been crafting wines that are genuinely exciting. They have quickly established themselves as one of the region’s most promising producers, working with some of the finest vineyards in the area.
This Pinot Noir is sourced from two exceptional sites: Dutton Ranch in the cool Green Valley subregion and Rued Vineyard, located closer to the Russian River. Dutton Ranch’s foggy mornings and long growing season produce balanced, ripe fruit with bright acidity, while the slightly warmer conditions at Rued Vineyard contribute richer, more concentrated fruit with subtle spice.
Together, these top-tier vineyards provide the foundation for a wine that is both vibrant and fresh yet layered and complex. Aged in French oak, it delivers a silky texture with gentle spice while allowing the fruit to remain the focus. A wine that reflects both the heritage of the Russian River and the fresh energy the Phillips family has brought to the region.
