Description
The 2020 Lillian Grenache is a striking expression of the variety, combining vivid fruit, savoury complexity and impressive structure. Deep neon pink and red hues in the glass hint at the wine’s intensity, while an expressive nose offers an enticing note of cotton candy alongside ripe red fruit.
Raised in just 34.7% new oak, including a single 600-litre puncheon, the wine has a firm backbone that brings focus and balance from the first sip. The palate is rich and layered, with vivid cactus fruit and supple leather leading into warming notes of cardamom, red velvet cake and subtle menthol spice.
Despite its intensity and generosity, the wine remains remarkably elegant, with fine tannins and a pronounced mineral structure providing shape and length. The finish is persistent and beautifully composed, leaving a lingering impression of dark fruit and spice.
