Description
Planted in 1997, this tiny 4.9 acre plot combines California selections and Burgundy clones. Freezing cold winds, limited water holding capacity, and varied sun exposure makes for intense grapes from vines that really have to fight to survive. Spiced cranberry, orange zest, and pomegranate hit the nose first, plum compote, clove, and herbal tea come through on the palate. Pure, bright, and clean, this is textbook Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir.
