Description
The 2020 Red Icon is the flagship wine of Painted Rock Estate, offering a compelling expression of the Skaha Bench in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. A classic Bordeaux-inspired blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, it combines the richness of the region with remarkable freshness and structure.
Deep and concentrated, the nose opens with aromas of cassis, dark cherry and chocolate, alongside subtle cedar and baking spice. The palate is powerful yet finely balanced, layered with ripe black fruit and supported by firm, silky tannins and vibrant acidity.
Eighteen months in French oak adds further depth and complexity, while the wine’s mineral character and impressive concentration carry through to a long, persistent finish.
