Description

A single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the estate’s La Belle Promenade Vineyard, perched high on the western slope of Oregon’s Chehalem Mountains. The 40-acre site sits between 750 and 850 feet in elevation, with undulating blocks planted in basalt-based volcanic soils. Dry farmed using organic principles, the vineyard benefits from excellent water retention, while the elevation and exposure help preserve the freshness and tension that define this distinctive site.

The 2021 vintage brings together ripe black cherry and boysenberry with fragrant notes of fresh oregano, Provençal herbs and baking spice. On the palate, the wine is plush and velvety, but never heavy, with bright acidity providing a lively backbone. Savoury layers of hoisin and Chinese five spice add depth to the generous dark fruit, while a mineral character carries through the long, beautifully balanced finish.

Native yeast fermentation, 14% whole-cluster fruit and just 16% new French oak give the wine a gentle sense of structure and complexity without obscuring the character of the vineyard. There is a lovely tension between richness and freshness here, with silky texture and precise acidity bringing everything into focus.

A polished and expressive Willamette Valley Pinot Noir that combines the generosity of the 2021 vintage with the distinctive volcanic character of La Belle Promenade.
