The 2021 Laberinto Sauvignon Blanc is a remarkable expression of Colbún in Chile’s Maule Valley, grown at the foothills of the Andes on distinctive volcanic soils. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, it combines remarkable freshness and mineral character with the depth and texture that come from six months on its lees.
Vibrant and precise, the nose reveals citrus and white fruit alongside flinty mineral notes and subtle aromas of the native vegetation surrounding the vineyard. The palate is beautifully focused, with lively acidity carrying flavours of lime and grapefruit through to a long, saline finish. Lees ageing adds texture and weight, while minimal intervention and unfiltered bottling preserve the wine’s purity and energy.
Its quality has been widely recognised, earning 96 points from Tim Atkin MW and being named his Best Sauvignon Blanc of Chile, alongside 95 points from Descorchados and 94 from Mesa de Cata.
