Rodney Strong Reserve wines are the result of a careful blend of individual lots from meticulously farmed sections of some of the very best vineyards in Sonoma County. Created in their small lot Artisan Cellar, Winemaker Justin Seidenfeld employs techniques such as cluster pre-sorting and extended maceration.
2021 was a fantastic growing season, with no frost and consistently mild temperatures without any major heat spikes. The notoriously unpredictable Sonoma County spring rains ended in March and leading into one of the driest seasons on record. The impact of this was an early, quick harvest, slightly lower yields, and excellent flavour concentration.
Expect notes of cassis, bramble fruits, cacao, and baking spices alongside refined tannins and a lingering finish.
