Description
Rodney Strong recognised in the late 1960s that Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley was an exceptional area for heat loving Cabernet Sauvignon.
A balance of moderately high daytime temperatures and cool evenings allowed for ideal flavour concentration without any loss of acidity. A lack of rainfall and cool temperatures meant that harvest could be unhurried over the period of a month, getting everything harvested at peak ripeness.
Expect notes of dark cherry, plum, black pepper, crushed violets, and cassis with a velvety finish.
