Pleiades is one of California’s most distinctive and unconventional red blends, created by the late Sean Thackrey with a simple aim: to make a wine that is delicious, characterful and impossible to pigeonhole. Non-vintage by design, each bottling is a unique composition, with varieties selected and blended according to the character of the individual wines rather than a fixed recipe.
Fragrant and expressive, Pleiades opens with perfumed dark fruits and bright red berries, alongside notes of baking spice, dried herbs and an intriguing savoury earthiness. The palate is lively and beautifully balanced, combining juicy acidity with a supple texture and gentle tannins.
There is an appealing freshness throughout, while the wine’s complexity continues to unfold in the glass.
